Note: This guidance is effective July 28, 2021 and supersedes all prior face [covering guidance].... In California, unvaccinated persons continue to be required to wear masks in all indoor public settings.... Masks are required for all individuals in the following indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status: [public transit and transportation hubs; indoors in K-12 schools, childcare and other youth settings; healthcare settings including long-term care facilities; State and local correctional facilities and detention centers; homeless shelters, emergency shelters and cooling centers]... Additionally, masks are required for unvaccinated individuals in indoor public settings and businesses... Guidance for Businesses, Venue Operators or Hosts [must choose verification, self-attestation or universal masking].
