Operative words

Wear a mask - or even better, two masks - before, during and after boarding any MDOT MTA vehicle. Masks are required to be on for the duration of your ride on transit.... While employers continue to support telework options and customers limit their use of transit to essential travel, the latest statistics show that ridership on commuter services continues to rebound slower than expected. Based on these trends, and to adjust service to meet demand, MDOT MTA has implemented temporary, strategic service reductions to MARC Train and Commuter Bus while continuing to operate core Local Bus on normal schedules.... All customers are required to undergo a temperature check before entry. Transit Store capacity is limited to seven customers at all times.

Enforcement

Federal: TSA civil penalties under the security directives (initially $250 to $1,500, doubled from Sept. 10, 2021) and refusal of boarding under the CDC order; carrier condition of carriage

Notes

Q3 2021 instrument for Maryland transit: the authority's own page, captured July 12, 2021, states the mask requirement and the continuing commuter-service reductions. Implementing rule under the federal conveyance order.
