Operative words

Do I have to wear a face mask? Yes. The Transportation Security Administration requires proper wearing of face masks, per federal law. Face masks are to be worn at all times. Failure to comply will result in denial of boarding or removal, and may result in penalties.... The CDC requires masks on Public Transportation Conveyances and Transportation Hubs. If you are unable to wear a mask due to a disability or medical condition, you MUST call 784-9500 x2012 to request an exemption prior to traveling on board any RIPTA vehicle.... What is closed? Kennedy Plaza Intermodal Transportation Center. Newport Transportation Center. Pawtucket Transit Center. Photo ID Office at Kennedy Plaza. Photo ID Office at RIPTA Headquarters

Enforcement

Denial of boarding or removal; TSA civil penalties under 49 U.S.C. § 46301 as applied by the security directive (initially $250-$1,500; doubled from Sept. 10, 2021)

Notes

Q3 2021 instrument: a State authority's restatement, three weeks before the quarter began, of the federal mask requirement it enforced by denial of boarding through the quarter. Implementing rule under federal orders.
