Operative words

[Paragraphs 2-5 do] not apply in counties or municipalities in which a local ordinance or order in effect as of the date this [order is issued requires that face coverings be worn] in public places and in businesses.... 3. All businesses or organizations in Kansas must re[quire all employees, customers, visitors, members, or members of the public to wear a face covering]... 7. Local governments retain authority to issue and [enforce equally or more restrictive orders]... Counties may also exercise authority granted by K.S.A. 48-925 as [amended]... It shall become effective immediately and remain in force until rescinded or until the statewide State of Disaster Emergency extended by Section 5 of Senate Bill 40... expires, whichever is earlier.

Enforcement

K.S.A. 48-939; revoked the same day by the LCC under K.S.A. 48-925(b) as amended by SB 40.

Notes

In force for one day statewide; local mask orders (Johnson County to Apr. 30, 2021; Douglas; Shawnee) continued on their own authority.
