Operative words

UTA Required to Comply with Federal Face Mask Requirement. The CDC has implemented an order... requiring that face masks be worn by all travelers into, within, or out of the United States, including public transit. In compliance with this order, masks are required to be worn by UTA customers and employees on our system, on our buses and trains, and at our stations.... Signs have been posted on our buses advising riders to board through the rear doors.... Bus Operators and Transit Police Officers are conducting visual fare inspections only... UTA has seen a significant decrease in ridership due to the COVID-19 pandemic.... we have implemented several service adjustments to meet current ridership levels and allow for social distancing on our vehicles.

Enforcement

Federal order (CDC/TSA) enforced by UTA; riders without masks refused

Notes

Also records that Salt Lake and Davis Counties moved from High to Moderate on the Transmission Index on Mar. 4, 2021 'while the face mask mandate remains in effect'

Retrieval note

The agency's own published rule; no Board resolution retrieved. Earlier captures (Apr. 15 and July 15, 2020; Feb. 17, 2021) exist but the archive would not serve them.
