Operative words

Stay-home order (Mar. 31, 2020): 'all individuals currently living within the City of Jackson are ordered to stay at home or at their place of residence except as allowed in this Order... All persons may leave their homes or place of residence only for Essential Activities, Essential Governmental Functions, or to participate in Essential Businesses and Operations... This Order shall be effective 12:00 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020 and remain in full force and effect until 11:59 p.m. on April 17, 2020.' Stay Safe Jackson (May 16, 2020) and Safe Recovery Jackson (May 10 and May 24, 2021): 'Wearing a face covering in public places and when working. Any individual who is over age two and able to medically and physically tolerate a face covering (a mask or cloth face covering) shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a face covering when in a public place or at work (essential and non-essential) and unable to maintain a six-foot social distance. Face coverings are required in public outdoor spaces and public indoor spaces such as stores.' Curfew (Aug. 12, 2020): 'a curfew is established within the entire geographical area of the City of Jackson... all pedestrian and vehicular movement, standing and parking, except for individuals... commuting to and from places of "Essential Business or Operation"... are prohibited during curfew hours.' Employee order (Aug. 16, 2021): 'All employees of the City must take all necessary actions to ensure that as covered employees, he/she shall: (i) wear a face covering anytime the covered employee can be expected to physically interact with City employees and members of the public in the course of performing their job duties, or (ii) provide proof of their full vaccination status... All persons employed by the City of Jackson must provide proof of having received at least one dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine no later than August 31, 2021... shall participate in weekly testing at their own cost... Failure to do so may result in termination.'

Enforcement

'Violations of this Proclamation of Executive Order may be subject to misdemeanor prosecution pursuant to Section 45-17-9 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended and Section 86-1 of the Jackson Code of Ordinances.'

Notes

The compilation shows Jackson's civil emergency continued on Mar. 31, Apr. 16, Apr. 30, May 15 and June 3, 2020 and thereafter; the Stay Safe Jackson orders set restaurant, bar, gym and salon rules and a 10:00 p.m. bar close (removed July 2, 2020); the 2021 Safe Recovery Jackson orders created a temporary citywide leisure district for carry-out alcohol and expanded outdoor service permits while keeping the face-covering requirement; pages 59-66 and 97-99 carry the 2021 employee orders.
