Operative words

This list is advisory in nature. It is not, nor should it be considered, a federal directive or standard.... Workers in laundromats, laundry services, and dry cleaners.... Workers providing personal and household goods, repair, and maintenance, including workers such as house cleaners, plumbers, appliance repair persons, and electricians, among others.... Mortuary service providers, such as: Workers performing mortuary funeral, cremation, burial, cemetery, and related services, including funeral homes, crematoriums, cemetery workers, and coffin makers.... Workers needed to provide laundry services, food services, reprocessing of medical equipment [healthcare support].... Workers in animal shelters.

Enforcement

None of its own; the State orders that incorporated it carried their own penalties

Notes

Q3 2021 federal instrument: the memorandum states that 'with newer and more contagious variants... we are entering a new phase of the pandemic response' and re-issues the list on Aug. 10, 2021; salons, barbers, nail, spa and pet grooming are absent from every version, which is why every CISA-adopting State's closure order reached them.
