Operative words
These changes will be implemented on all CTtransit and CTfastrak buses as well as all transit districts in Connecticut. Effective immediately, passengers will now board from the rear door with the exception of passengers who are in wheelchairs and others who require the bus to kneel.... To ensure this outcome, the CTDOT strongly encourages the public to reserve bus and public transit for ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ONLY such as getting to and from work or for procuring essential needs.... CUSTOMERS WHO FEEL SICK SHOULD NOT USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
Enforcement
Statewide operating directive to all bus operators (rear-door boarding; fare collection suspended, per Ex. 038: 'The use of the fare boxes and front door boarding was temporarily suspended statewide due to COVID-19 safety precautions'); no penalty clause
Notes
Statewide directive of the State DOT to every public bus operator in Connecticut, in force from Mar. 19 to Oct. 5, 2020 (Nov. 1 for the last districts). Authority operating rule binding on riders and operators.
