Every person diagnosed or provisionally diagnosed with a listed communicable disease was bound to remain isolated for the prescribed period, every contact of such a person was bound to 'comply with the restrictions specified in Exhibit C,' and violation of the Department's rule was a misdemeanor under HRS §§ 325-14 and 321-18.

Retrieval note

Graded verified_secondary because the text was read in Cornell LII's compilation, not in a Department of Health posting: the Department's rules page now carries only the 2026 replacement chapter 11-156.1 and a 2025 Ramseyer draft, and no Department PDF of the 2008 chapter was located. § 11-156-5(b): a person with a disease 'for which other than strict isolation is required in Exhibit C, shall remain isolated to the degree specified until the expiration of the prescribed period of isolation for that disease or until advised by the attending practitioner or by the department that the disease has reached a stage such that isolation is no longer necessary for the protection of the public.' § 11-156-5(c): 'Any person who has been a contact of a person diagnosed or provisionally diagnosed with a communicable disease specified in Exhibit C shall comply with the restrictions specified in Exhibit C.' The Department's own statement of the rule as 'exclusion from school and workplace' is Ex. DUT-HI-012.
