Penalty
Civil fine up to $1,000 per violation or per day
What it required
Authorized civil fines of up to $1,000 for each violation or each day of a continuing violation of an MDHHS order, assessed by citation issued at the time or within 90 days of discovery (subsection (2)); the MDHHS orders recited that 'violations of this order are also punishable by a civil fine of up to $1,000 for each violation or day that a violation continues' (Ex. MI-060 sec. 8(h)).
Retrieval noteThe civil-fine schedule applicable to the epidemic orders was adopted by MDHHS emergency rule (referenced in the orders as 'any rule or emergency rule promulgated and adopted in a schedule of monetary civil penalties under MCL 333.2262(1)'); the rule itself is not in the library.
