Operative words

I.a. The Secretary of Health (the "Secretary") is hereby authorized and directed to issue orders under this Order requiring persons entering Maryland to quarantine and/or undergo testing for COVID-19, as the Secretary deems medically necessary and reasonable, for the purpose of monitoring, treating, preventing, reducing the spread of, and suppressing COVID-19 ("Travel Orders"). II.a. Each law enforcement officer of the State or a political subdivision shall execute and enforce this Order and all Travel Orders. II.b. A person who knowingly and willfully violates this Order or any Travel Order is guilty of a misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to imprisonment not exceeding one year or a fine not exceeding $5,000 or both.

Implemented by MDH 2020-12-17-01 section 1.A.iii (MD-050): test within 72 hours before or on arrival, quarantine pending results, exemption for DC, VA, PA, DE, WV, regular commuters with workplace screening exempt, 'shall end on January 31, 2021 and become advisory recommendations' unless renewed
