Operative words

1.A.iii. Pursuant to Executive Order 20-12-17-01, and Health-General Article 18-601, 18-902, all Marylanders who travel outside of Maryland and individuals who travel to Maryland, shall: a. Immediately get a COVID-19 test upon arrival in Maryland or within 72 hours before travel to Maryland. I. Symptomatic travelers shall self-isolate upon arrival or are strongly encouraged to stay at their place of origin. II. Asymptomatic individuals shall self-quarantine while awaiting test results.... Note: This requirement only applies to travelers with Maryland as their final destination.... b. Travel to the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the States of Delaware and West Virginia by Marylanders is exempt from this testing requirement. c. Employee commuters who leave/enter the state on a regular basis and have work-based COVID-19 screening procedures do not need to quarantine. Employees who occasionally travel to or from Maryland for work-related purposes shall, to the extent reasonably practicable, comply with the quarantine and testing requirements above. d. Individuals who violate this subsection shall be subject to the penalties stated in Executive Order No. 20-12-17-01. e. Local health departments shall coordinate and assist State and local law enforcement agencies in the enforcement of this subsection. f. Unless renewed or extended, the requirements in this subsection and its provisions shall end on January 31, 2021 and become advisory recommendations.
