Operative words

5. The Judges have agreed to continue certain civil and criminal matters, scheduled between March 16, 2020, and April 13, 2020, for a jury trial, hearing, or disposition to a future date. 6. Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, through April 13, 2020, citizens summoned for petit jury duty are not required to report for jury service. 7. Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, through April 13, 2020, hours of operation for the General Division will be 8:00am - 3:00pm.

Enforcement

Order of court; General Division 'will have the lawful authority, within constitutional limits, to do or direct to be done all things necessary to ensure the orderly and efficient administration of justice and public safety for the duration of the declared state of emergency' (¶ 8)

Notes

First of a numbered series of General Orders (First through Seventeenth, Mar. 13, 2020-2022). Authorizes audiovisual technology for all proceedings (¶ 3) and finds the public health emergency good cause for continuances (¶ 4).
