Operative words

1. Beginning no later than March 24, 2020 at 5:00 pm, and continuing for the duration of the peacetime emergency... the ability to file an eviction action under Minnesota Statutes 2019, section 504B.285 or 504B.291 is suspended.... 2.... all residential landlords must cease terminating residential leases during the pendency of the emergency... 3.... all officers who hold a writ of recovery of premises and order to vacate must cease executing such writs

Enforcement

Para. 5: willful violation of paras. 1, 2 or 3 'is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction must be punished by a fine not to exceed $1,000, or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days. The Attorney General may also seek any relief available pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 2019, section 8.31.'

Notes

Para. 4 requested a foreclosure moratorium from mortgage holders. The suspension ran, in successive forms, from Mar. 24, 2020 to June 30, 2021 and then by statute (MN-042).
