Operative words
Out of an abundance of caution, dentists are requested to postpone elective surgery for their patients if it will not put the patient's health in danger. This will help with the following: 1. Maintain safe distances in ambulatory clinical/hospital settings. 2. Prevent the risk of inadvertent transmission of the virus. 3. Preserve inventory of supplies for critical cases. 4. Preserve hospital capacity for critical cases.
Enforcement
Request by the licensing board; mandatory effect followed from the ODH order of Mar. 17, 2020 (Ex. OH-007), which the Stay Safe Ohio Order applied to 'medical providers, including dentists' (Ex. OH-019 para. 9)
