Operative words
Unless otherwise indicated, the rule's provisions take effect May 4, 2021, and remain in effect until revised or repealed. Note: Oregon OSHA's temporary rule addressing COVID-19 in the workplace expires May 4, 2021, 180 days after its adoption. Under the Oregon Administrative Procedures Act, a temporary rule cannot be renewed or extended beyond 180 days. Therefore, in order to extend protections for workers against COVID-19, which remains a significant concern, Oregon OSHA adopted this rule following the normal process for permanent rulemaking.
Enforcement
Oregon Safe Employment Act citations and civil penalties; complaint-driven inspections
Notes
Carried forward every temporary-rule duty without a gap; Appendix A sector provisions (restaurants, retail, personal services, construction, transit, sports, fitness, K-12, child care, veterinary, EMS, law enforcement, custodial) until June 30, 2021.
