2020: The three largest Midwestern and Northeastern show venues were withdrawn from commerce and dedicated to State and federal hospital use during the spring 2020 show season. 2021: Venues returned to show use in 2021 under the gathering, capacity and mask orders of each State and city. Usual dates: Javits from Mar. 27, 2020 (stood down May 1, 2020); McCormick Place from end of March 2020 (closure announced May 1, 2020; 29 patients treated); TCF Center Apr. 10-May 7, 2020. Scale: McCormick Place: 'first 500 beds operational within five days,' plans for 3,000 beds scaled back, $64.8 million spent by Apr. 16, 2020 (WTTW).
