2020: Cancelled May 1, 2020: 'Based on the advice of health experts and the continued guidance issued by the governor, the Cal Expo Board has decided to cancel the CA State Fair and Food Festival scheduled for July 17-August 2 until 2021.'. 2021: Not held; Cal Expo operated as a 'Vaccination Super Site' vaccinating '5,000 to 6,000 persons each day' and 'must continue to operate as an emergency response facility'; reopening deferred to 'hopefully later this summer' (notice captured Apr. 30, 2021). Cal Expo's letter of Mar. 2, 2021: Cal Expo, 'which in a normal year hosts over 200 events, was forced to cancel nearly all of its events, and the 2020 State Fair, impacting over 800 seasonal workers and costing Cal Expo and estimated million in revenue' (Ex. SEC-20-GM-065). Usual dates: mid-July to early August (July 17 - Aug. 2, 2020 scheduled). Scale: 'the region's most attended event facility' (Cal Expo's 2021 notice, Ex.
