'Because NMA's highest priority is the health, wellbeing and safety of exhibitors, attendees, stakeholders and their respective families and colleagues, as well as event partners in Las Vegas, the COVID-19 pandemic has made holding MINExpo in September 2020 impracticable.'

2020: Postponed to September 2021, announced May 13, 2020. 2021: Held September 13-15, 2021: 'originally scheduled for Sept. 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The NMA rescheduled the show... and took a range of precautions... following the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local authorities, as well as the Las Vegas Convention Center... sessions were limited to just five feature sessions... The signature awards ceremony, previously a luncheon, included a featured speaker and no food service to allow attendees to remain masked for the duration of the event.'. Usual dates: Late September, every four years (2020: September 28-30; held September 13-15, 2021). Scale: 'MINExpo - the world's largest show of equipment, products, services and technologies for surface, underground, hardrock and coal mining'; the 2021 show 'welcomed more than 22,000 participants from 79 countries, with more than 1,400 exhibitors utilizing 650,000+ square feet' (NMA, Oct. 20, 2021).
