Operative words

1. Food service establishments, as defined in section 1107(t) of the Michigan Food Law, 2000 PA 92, as amended, MCL 289.1107(t), that hold on-premises retailer licenses to sell alcoholic beverages must close for indoor service if they earn more than 70% of their gross receipts from sales of alcoholic beverages. 2. Any food service establishment that serves alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption must, both indoors and outdoors: 1. Require patrons to wear a face covering except when seated at their table or bar top...; 2. Close common areas where people stand and congregate...; 3. Sell alcoholic beverages only to patrons who are seated at socially distanced tables.... 11. This order takes effect at 11:00 pm on July 1, 2020.

Enforcement

§ 12: 'Consistent with MCL 10.33 and MCL 30.405(3), a willful violation of this order is a misdemeanor.'

Notes

Regions 6 and 8 excepted until EO 2020-160 extended the bar closure statewide on July 31, 2020.
